Renault aims to motor to success while stellar field assembles for women's contest

Neil Renault (handicap -4.4) will aim to go one better than last year when he competes in the Baxters River Ness 10km, tomorrow, which is shaping up to be an exciting race. The Edinburgh AC runner finished runner-up behind Inverclyde's Andy Douglas (handicap -3.5) in last year's event but Douglas is an absentee on this occasion.Renault has been in good form and has a best time this year of 30:40 set in the Wilne 10km at Draycott.

Bud's Run and Bash is the idea of Bud Baldaro, the former UKA Marathon Event Coach who's been based at the University of Birmingham for over ten years. During his forty year career, Bud has helped and encouraged hundreds of distance and middle-distance runners of all ages and standards. Bud was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2009, and is keen to use his love of running to help fund research into this long-term condition.

Television and radio presenter, Gethin Jones, has been unveiled as the official race starter for this year's Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon, which incorporates the 5th race in the runbritain Grand Prix.as well as the British Championships and the trials for the 2016 IAAF World Half Marathon that will also be held in Cardiff, next March.
