The weekend round-up of results highlighted some impressive running across the country. Dewi Griffiths and Hayley Carruthers were the top parkrun performers and Tom Cornthwaite had a return to top form with a 50-minute 10mile win in the Brampton to Carlisle classic.

The weekend saw many impressive performances at the British Masters International in Swansea.Mark McKinstry (V35), from Northern Ireland, ran the fastest timeover the 8km course as he won the M35 - 49 race. Teresa Doherty (V40)was the fastest over the 6km women's and M65 course. Further afield, some of the UK's younger talent performed well on the collegiate circuit in the USA.

The big fields were at the Chiltern League that also incorporated the British Cross Challenge at the weekend as many athletes fine tuned themselves ahead of the upcoming European Cross Country Championships in December. Other big cross country events were at the Scottish Short Championships and also in Ireland for the Uneven and Novice championships. The Gwent League had a high turnout too.
