World Championship athletes top the National Ladder

Now that the IAAF World Athletics Championships have finished, we thought it would be a good time to check on our National Ladder and see where everyone has finished up!
Mo Farah (handicap -7.8) unsurprisingly tops the rankings after his Grand Finale on the track that saw him win gold in the 10,000m and silver in the 5000m., while Laura Muir (handicap -3.3) leads the women’s National Ladder after finishing 4th in the 1500m and 6th in the 5000m
Farah's handicap of MINUS 7.8 sets the pace in a top three of World Championship performers ahead of Andrew Butchart (handicap -6.9) who finished 8th in the 5000m and Kyle Langford (handicap -6.6) who impressed everyone with his 4th place in the 800m. Kyle is top of the U23 rankings with this superb new handicap score.
Laura Muir is in pole position in the women's rankings where the top seven are all World Championship performers. Her Dundee Hawk teammate, Eilish McColgan (handicap -3.0) is in 2nd place after her 10th place finish in the 5000m.
The marathon runners including Callum Hawkins (handicap -6.3), Charlotte Purdue (handicap -2.0) and Alyson Dixon (handicap -0.8) are perhaps a little disadvantaged because they didn't race much in their build-up and the handicap scoring system rewards regular racing. This is something that runbritainrankings are going to have a look at to see whether we need to give greater weighting to marathon performances.
