Run the Southampton Common Women's Running 10k

Southampton Common

The Women's Running 10k race series offers women the chance to run a 10K on traffic-free courses in a friendly environment.

The first race in the series takes place in Cardiff on May 31 at Bute Park, a gorgeous parkland featuring lovely scenery and a nationally renowned array of unique, ornamental trees.

Next up is Finsbury Park on June 7th, followed by Southampton Common on June 14, just nine weeks away and so plenty of time to prepare and train.

Boasting 326 acres of woodland, parkland, gorgeous ponds, a model yachting pond and a fishing lake, the Southampton Common event takes place in a beautiful green space to the north of the city.

A flat course, it is ideal for runners of all abilities. This year there will also be a 5K option for beginners – perfect for those running in their first mass-participated event.

Here are some of the comments from last year’s racers:

‘I was there and I loved it! Such a good atmosphere … ran the last km with a group of women and they got me through the line! Cracking day!’ – Claire Tewkesbury

‘I loved it! My first time ever!! Never ran more than 6k until today!! Thank you!!’ – Cristina Munoz

‘Was a hard run in the heat. But well organised and I enjoyed the atmosphere especially at the finish.’ – Jo Restall

All entrants will receive a free goody bag, filled with quality kit and nutritional goods and finishers will receive an event t-shirt and medal for their achievements. A range of pacers will also be there on the day, covering various times to help you to achieve your time and support you along the way.
