Where will you drive your handicap down this weekend?
It's Friday and the weekend is beckoning! Where are you racing? It looks like it will be a good weekend for lowering handicap scores and the weather forecast isn't too bad. Some may get wet but there will be smatterings of sunshine too!
A quick look at the calender shows that it is a big weekend for marathons and half marathons.:
The inaugural Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon will take runners past some of York's historic sites and along the country lanes surrounding the city.
The Abingdon Marathon, now in its 32nd year is a firm favourite on the calendar.
The Eden Project Marathon and Half Marathon that has been on the calendar since 2009 starts and finishes at the Eden Project in Cornwall and takes runners on a mixed road/multi-terrain route.
The Sibelco Dartmoor Vale Marathon and Half Marathon's route along leafy country lanes will inspire many to fast times.
The Mill Town to Moors Oldham Half Marathon is back on the calendar! The last event took place in 2009.
The BUPA Great Birmingham Run will attract thousands of spectators to watch the thousands of runners in, what is, the biggest half marathon in the midlands.
The Wadworth Devizes Half Marathon will take the runners through glorious countryside in the heart of Wiltshire.
The Bridlington Half Marathon or otherwise known as 'The Brid Half' has been on the calender since 1983 and attracts a big field. It starts and finishes on the sea front and thecourse takes runners into the countryside.
All of these races are perfect for lowering your handicap score. Whether there are hills, sunshine or showers the SSS score will be factored in and your handicap score will reflect your performance on the day.
