Weekend workout for Mother's Day

Firstly, don’t forget that it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday (18 March)...

Secondly, try not to use it as an excuse slob around all day with a celebration of food and drink, but turn it into an opportunity to get active!

We’re now moving into one of our busiest periods in the whole year for road running so why not get involved in one of the many events taking place this weekend, even if you’re standing on the sidelines as a supporter.

Events this weekend include the Miles for Missing People 10k in London, the Frisby Fun Run in Leicestershire, the Brighton Trail Marathon, the Ashford & District 10k, the South Yorkshire and Liverpool Half Marathons and the Leith Hill Half Marathon and Wife Carrying Race.

That's just a tiny selection, but for full details on all runbritain licensed events check out the events section of the website.

Don’t worry if you’re too late to enter, there are many opportunities to take part in events throughout the spring and summer, and if they all sound a bit too much or a bit too far away, why not check out your local parkrun event: http://www.parkrun.com/home

Have a good weekend, and if you're not in the mood to be active, just chill out and read our special Mother’s Day blog in the blog section of the website.
