Weekend virtual 5k updates

With many online challenges available around the UK, providing runners with virtual events to aim for, results are flooding in. Today we look at some of the best 5k times where Ieuan Thomas, Adam Hickey and Mollie Williams are leading the way over the virtual 5ks.

The Welsh Athletics Virtual 5km Challenge has seen steeplechaser, Ieuan Thomas (handicap -5.4), run an impressive 13:53. Lee Shannon (handicap 1.0) clocked a virtual 15:20, which is his fastest ever, whilst V40 running guru,  James Thie (handicap -1.6) impressed with 15:23.

Bethan Hardman (handicap 5.4) is currently the leading woman with 17:43. Sioned Howells (handicap 4.0) is in 2nd with 18:43 and  Rheagan Edwards (handicap 6.8) posted an impressive 19:01 which puts her 3rd.

In England, the Podium Challenge (@Podium5k) moves to quarter final stage with tasty times! The Podium 5k Knockout Challenge has recorded Mollie Williams (handicap 1.4) clocking 16:18, Elsey Davis 16:39 and Lauren Cooper (handicap 2.0) 16:47. The men's leaderboard has. Adam Hickey (handicap -6.8) with a 14:09 clocking, Joe Sagar (handicap -3.6) 14:13 and Matthew Crehan (handicap -4.5) 14:15. They now move to the quarter finals along with the top 20 from round 2. The race -window finishes on the 16th May and only the top 10 will advance to the semi finals.
