Weekend updates on the road, in the park and indoors

This weekend's update includes results from the Houston Marathon and Half Marathon along with other significant performances closer to home. Paul Martaletti and Emma Pallant put down the fastest parkrun performances in the UK whilst the indoor boards in Cardiff were heated up with great performances from Jamie Webb, Piers Copeland, Kieran Clements and Claire Tarplee.
The Houston Half Marathon, in Texas, produced significant UK performances with Dewi Griffiths (handicap -6.5) and Tracy Barlow (handicap -1.7) topping the early 2019 Half Marathon rankings with 61:44 and 73:03 respectively. Alice Wright (handicap -0.5) enjoyed an excellent debut clocking of 73:17 whilst, in the Houston Marathon, Natasha Cockram (handicap 0.9) went to the top of the 2019 Marathon Rankings with her time of 2:34:18 and Stephen Scullion (handicap -5.5) ran a pb of 2:14:34.
On the indoor track, in the Cardiff Met GP2: Non-Thomas Open, there were some exceptional performances from Jamie Webb (handicap -4.9) who ran 800m in 1:47.63, Piers Copeland (handicap -4.3) who ran 1500m in 3:44.46, Kieran Clements (handicap -5.9) who ran 3000m in 7:55.11 and Claire Tarplee (handicap 0.5) who ran 1500m in 4:18.87.
Paul Martelletti (handicap -4.9) ran 15:12 at the Victoria Dock event to record the fastest men’s parkrun time. Emma Pallant (handicap 3.8) was the quickest woman of the week with 16:59 at the ever popular Bushy Park parkrun which, again, was the biggest parkrun of the week with 1,514 finishers.
