Weekend update

Our results show that parkruns were amongst the biggest events this weekend with high numbers and fast finishers across the UK. Jonny Hay (handicap -4.5) was the fastest in the UK after his win at the Bushy parkrun with 14:36, which also had the biggest UK parkrun numbers. Hayley Carruthers (handicap -1.5) was the top woman with her 16:20 in the Kingsbury Water parkrun. Emile Cairess (handicap -5.8) impressed on the track in the EAP Belfast International Meeting where Ciara Mageean (handicap -1.6) also won impressively.  

Top performer at the Belfast International EAP meeting with a big PB was Emile Cairess (handicap -5.8) who ran an awesome 13:37.55 with a fast last lap ahead of Team New Balance Manchester based Swiss runner Jonas Raess.

The Women’s 800m saw Ciara Mageean (handicap -1.6), win with a timely surge in the final 100m. This was a meeting record of 2:02.40. Ciara then paced the 3000m  that was won by her training partner Jip Vastenburg in 9:04.82 from Charlotte Arter (9:04.95). Ciara also ran a third event on the track as featured in this BBC clip!

The Barry Island 10K was won by Josh Griffiths and Natasha Cockram in 30:29 and 34:41 respectively.

With 618 parkruns in the UK, Bushy was again the largest and the fastest of the parkruns.
