Weekend update

The Simplyhealth Great Manchester 10k Run enjoyed impressive performances from the top British runners, Nick Goolab and Steph Twell, along with Ireland's Fionnuala McCormack.
Nick Goolab (handicap -6.0) continued his exceptional road form at the Great Manchester 10k Run to finish fourth in the men’s race, crossing the line in 28:42, in a race won by Jacob Kiplimo (UGA) in an impressive 27:31. Hellen Obiri (KEN) took the spoils in the women’s race with Steph Twell (handicap -1.9) the first Brit home, in fourth with a time of 32:41, just two seconds ahead of Ireland's Fionnuala McCormack, .
In the wheelchair race, JohnBoy Smith pipped Simon Lawson in a thrilling sprint finish, Smith winning by just one second in 22:11 for the 10k event.
At the USATF Distance Classic, Los Angeles, Josh Kerr (handicap -5.5) produced a highly impressive 5,000m debut as he finished second in the high quality race in 13.28.66 with his fellow Scot Chris O’Hare (handicap -6.1) also running a 13.33.99 personal best in the same race.
Kyle Langford (handicap -2.5) went straight to the top of the UK outdoor rankings with his 1:47.31 run for second place over 800m, with 1500m man Neil Gourley (handicap -.5.2) sixth in 1:48.42. There was also a fine 4.09.31 personal best for Amy Eloise-Neale (handicap -1.0) as she finished fourth.
