Weekend update
In Copenhagen, athletes took advantage of the fast half marathon course whilst in Swansea Bay there was plenty to cheer as UK based, winners had comfortable margins of victory.
At the Copenhagen Half Marathon in Denmark, Calli Thackery (handicap -3.1) continued her excellent 2022 season as she recorded a lifetime best for the half marathon and moved to 12th on the UK all-time list after posting a time of 69:02.
Lucy Reid (handicap 0.4) also improved her best to 70:29 and moved into the all-time top 20. Lauren McNeil (handicap -0.6) jumped to second on the runbritain U23 all time list with 71:01.
In the men’s race, Ross Millington (handicap -5.2) was the top British finisher in a time of 63:09, while Callum Hawkins (handicap -3.2) posted 63:13.
At the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k, Natasha Cockram (handicap -1.1) won the wonen's race in 33:09, and well ahead of Megan Carter-Davies (handicap -1.1) who ran 35:18 for 2nd.. Omar Kadar (handicap -1.1) won the men's race in 29:11 ahead of Dewi Griffiths (handicap -1.1) and Dylan Evans (handicap -1.1) who posted 29:51.
Nigel Martin (handicap -5.7) and Ali Lavender (handicap 1.2) won at the picturesque Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon. Martin took the men’s title with 65:54 from Callum Rowlinson (handicap -1.1) in 66:00. Ali Lavender took the women’s title in 78:07.
