Weekend update

The National Club Relays took place in Birmingham, this weekend, and there were some great road performances in Belfast, Brighton and Rotterdam.
Clubs qualified in their area championships to race at the ERRA National Road Relays at the weekend. Tonbridge AC won the men's 12 stage relay in a time of 4:13:11, edging out Highgate Harriers who ran 4:13:24 and Bedford Harriers whose cumulative time was 4:14:25. Nick Goolab (handicap -3.7) and Thomas Keen (handicap -4.7) ran the fastest legs.
The women’s 6-stage race was won by Salford Harriers with Eleanor Bolton (handicap-1.9) running 29:40 on the opening long leg, which proved to be the fastest of the day. Gemma Steel (handicap 2.5) ran the fastest short leg in 17:17.
Salford held their position right the way through, resulting in a commanding victory of 2:14:46 ahead of Highgate Harriers.
Britain’s Weynay Ghebresilasie (handicap -3.6) ran a brilliant 2:12:17 to take 10th place in the Rotterdam Marathon. Belfast man, Stephen Scullion (handicap -5.9) finished with a time of 2:14:32 for 13th position.
At the Brighton Running Festival, the 10k supporting event grabbed the headlines with Natasha Cockram (handicap -1.9) close to her best and winning in 33:29. Harriet Bloor (handicap -0.1) was next in 33:56 and third was Cassie Thorp (handicap 1.6) in 34:42.
The men’s 10k podium was filled by sub 31- minute runners. Ronny Wilson (handicap -4.6) won in 30:04 ahead of Blake Moore (handicap -4.7) in 30:08 and Jack Hutchens (handicap -3.0) in 30:38.
Alix Ramsier (handicap -2.6) was the Marathon winner in 2:29:08.
At the Deep River Rock Queens 5k in Belfast, Nick Griggs (handicap -5.5) was winning again in 14:13 with Emma Mitchell (handicap 0.0) returning to form to win the women's race in 16:09.
Samuel Moakes (handicap -5.2) won the Derby 10k in 31:07 while Lily Partridge (handicap 0.0) was the women’s winner with 34:25.
In Loughborough, at the Charnwood track meeting, Megan Davies (handicap 0.7) ran an outstanding 9:09.28. PB over 3000m.
Max Wharton (handicap -3.2) was the quickest parkrun runner with 15:03 in London’s Bushy Park. Fastest parkrun for women was Lilly Hawkins (handicap 1.0) with 16:56 at the Southampton parkrun.
