The weekend saw great performances from both seasoned and upcoming stars from around the UK and further afield.
At the Müller Grand Prix in Gateshead, Laura Muir (handicap -3.6), Dina Asher-Smith and Cindy Sember were among the British winners at this Diamond League meeting.
Other endurance highlights included Jack Rowe (handicap -6.1) and Jake Smith (handicap -6.6) running 5000m PBs is a stacked field, with Jake's time coming just a month after his 2:11 marathon debut.
Archie Davis (handicap -5.9) ran 3:41 in the 1500m, chasing the invincible Jakob Ingebrigtsen who eased away to victory. A more detailed report is here.
At the Loughborough International, the Great Britain and Northern Ireland U20 team finished third behind England and Loughborough Students.
On a damp day, the highlights included tactical wins over 800m for Kyle Langford (handicap -6.4) and Issy Boffey (handicap -1.5). The ever improving Tom Mortimer won the 1500m in a PB with Revee Walcott-Nolan (handicap -1.3) winning the women’s event. At the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze Level in Dessau, Germany, Alex Botterill (handicap -6.1) ran a PB in the men’s 800m, stopping the clock at 1:46.52. He was third overall in the race with Ben Pattison (handicap -4.7) sixth in 1:46.84. In the women’s 800m Alex Bell (handicap -2.3) was fourth in a 2:02.04 in a race by Renelle Lamote (FRA) in 2:01.66.
At the Little Bromley 10k , James Pettersson (handicap -3.0) became a frustrated 30-minute 10k runner missing the 29:59 time by 0.6 of a second, with his 30:00 winning time. Laura Thomas (handicap 2.5) was the winning woman in 36:14.
