Weekend update

Cross Country
The English Cross Country Relays at Berry Hill in Mansfield were a damp experience for many on the sodden fields. The fastest parkruns over the weekend were from Gavin Hill in South Machester (Platt Fields) and Jacquie Fairchild in North Manchester(Heaton Park). 

 

 

Leeds City AC won the men’s title following a fine display by the team’s quartet of Phil Sesemann (handicap -5.6)  Matthew Grieve (handicap -3.9), Graham Rush (handicap -4.9), Emile Cairess (handicap -5.8). The team crossed the line in 65:14 with some of the fastest times over the muddy and sometimes slippy course.  Rush and Cairess the quickest on the third and fourth laps in 16:22 and 16:01 respectively.

Wreake and Soar Valley’s Sam Stabler (handicap -3.2) produced the fastest lap of the day in the senior men’s contest, recording a time of 15:53.

Aldershot, Farnham & District claimed the senior women’s title following an impressive display from the trio of Emily Hosker-Thornhill (handicap -0.7) , Niamh Brown (handicap 3.4) and Lauren Hall (handicap 0.6)

Emily Hosker-Thornhill (handicap -0.7) ran the fastest leg of the day by far, her 9:53 clocking the only time under 10 minutes on the day.

Shaftesbury Barnet were victorious in the junior men’s contest while Wolverhampton & Bilston were triumphant in the junior women’s race.

The fastest parkruns over the weekend were from Gavin Hill in South Manchester and Jacquie Fairchild in Heaton.. 

Gavin Hill (handicap  -3.8), ran 15:18 at South Manchester parkrun, which was the fastest men's time. 

Jacquie Fairchild (handicap  -0.7) was the fastest female parkrunner this weekend, with a pleasing17:31 at Heaton parkrun.
