Weekend update

The highlight performances came from Jamie Webb and Elliot Giles who both ran best 800m times outdoors, just one week out from the Olympic trials where six athletes have already clocked an Olympic qualifying time. U20 and U23 athletes were in action over the weekend in Bedford at the England Championships.
At the World Athletics Continental Tour in Poland, Jamie Webb (handicap -6.8) produced the best 800m time of his career to date as he clocked 1:44.14 for second place in a rapid race behind local favourite Patryk Dobek of Poland who ran 1:43.73. GB team-mate, Elliot Giles (handicap -7.1) recorded an outdoor PB of 1:44.20 for third place.
Erin Wallace (handicap -1.5) was seventh in the women’s 1500m in 4:08.97.
At the England Athletics U20 / U23 Championships, several athletes confirmed their places on the teams for the European U20 and European U23 Championships. In the Czech Republic track meeting, there was a PB for Archie Davis (handicap -6.2) in the men’s 1500m as he crossed the line in 3:38.46 for fourth place.
