Weekend Round-up

Seyfu Jamaal had a breakthrough victory at the massive Milton Keynes Half Marathon this weekend with a 66:06 winning time. The GB&NI cross-country teams were proud to be podium performers in five of the seven events in the European Cross Country Championships in Portugal. Elsewhere the Telford 10k was a loaded field as reported yesterday and Verity Ockenden was in great form in the indoor 5000m at Boston.
Seyfu Jamaal (handicap -4.6) from London Heathside astounded the field at the Milton Keynes Winter Half Marathon with an eye catching 66:05 win! This time is now tops the u20 runbritain rankings table for 2019.
Great Britain and Northern Ireland won five team gold medals at the 2019 SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon to top the medal table once again. For a full report click here.
Verity Ockenden (handicap -1.3) moved to 11th on the runbritain 5000m rankings with a clocking of 15:34 indoors at the Sharon Colyear-Danville meeting at Boston USA over the weekend.
Of the 674 Saturday parkruns, the biggest field was again at Bushy park in London, while the fastest were at Dulwich for men and Pegwell Bay for women.
It was Chloe Sharp (handicap 1.1) who was the fastest woman with her Pegwell Bay parkrun performance of 16:52. Not only did this give her a personal best time but it also took 0.3 off her handicap score! Australian, Elliott McGaughran, was speeding around Dulwich Park with a 15:03 for the London 5k parkrun.
