The big events this weekend were:

Wokingham Half Marathon - 1670 finishers

Chichester 10K - 1646 finishers

Bushy Park parkrun - 959 finishers

Great Bentley Half Marathon - 724 finishers

The Wokingham Half Marathon went ahead in good, sunny conditions - a relief to the organisers who had to cancel it last year because of flooding. It was won by the in-form Paul Martelletti (handicap -5.2) who took 0.2 off his handicap in this race. Paul raced last weekend in the Watford Half Marathon and won that race in 66:52. His time at Wokinham was 64:18 and a new personal best. Also setting a new personal best time was Hayley Munn (handicap 0.8). Hayley was the first woman to cross the line in 75:37. She took 0.4 off her handicap score and got it back to where it was in the autumn when she ran 2:37:44 at the BMW Fankfurt Marathon. Hayley was 27th overall in the race and just a couple of places back was the 2nd woman, Mara Yamauchi (handicap 7.1) in 75:52. Mara was running her first race since the Cabbage Patch 10 last autumn.

Toby Lambert (handicap -3.8) won the Chichester Priory 10k, also in good conditions, and took 0.2 off his handicap score that he set at the Stubbington Green 10k. Toby's time was tantalisingly close to the 30 minute mark (30:03) but he ran the race, from the front, on his own making that target more difficult. Paolo Natali (handicap -3.9) was given 2nd and Ben Cole (handicap -3.1) 3rd although they were both given the same time of 30:38. Dan Thorne (handicap -2.3) was 4th in 30:40. First woman was Elinor Kirk (handicap 0.1) who crossed the line in 33:56. This was Elinor's first race since last summer's Commonwealth Games and her first outing on the roads for a considerable time. Elinor came in 43 seconds ahead of Emma Macready (handicap 1.4).

Have you checked whether your handicap score has gone up, down or stayed the same after your run this weekend?
