We have looked at the top 10 male and female performances from the last 7 days based on the handicap score for last week's performances. To calculate this we have taken the basic handicap score for the performance on the day and the SSS score which rates how difficult it was to run a quick time on the day and arrived at the net score which is the basic minus the SSS.
The table below also shows the actual handicap score, which also factors in their previous performances and regular racing.

The Greater Manchester Marathon was won by Andi Jones (handicap -5.2) who dipped under the qualifying time for England for this summer's Commonwealth Games. He was followed in by Andrew Davies (handicap -4.6) who achieved his aim of achieving the qualifying time for Wales. Kevin Seaward (handicap -2.3) was the third man to finish. Emily Wicks (handicap 0.0) was first female across the line with Gemma Rankin (handicap 0.7) in 2nd and Samantha Amend (handicap 1.6) in 3rd.
Meanwhile. Rebecca Robinson (handicap -0.3) was the only British runner to get onto the podium at the Brighton Marathon. Finishing just outside her best she said, “It has taken me four years to get back to fitness again so I am happy. I pushed the pace as much as possible to the half way mark but then I had to slow down. But I am pleased with my time even though it was just outside my PB.”
The Brighton 10k, on the other hand, was a domestic affair. The first three home were Nick McCormick, (handicap -5.4), Adam Hickey (handicap -5.6) and Robbie Simpson (handicap -4.7) in the men's race with Alyson Dixon (handicap -1.6), Lorna Russell (handicap -0.4) and Lousie Damen (handicap -0.9) leading the women home.
Have you checked whether your handicap score has gone up, down or stayed the same after your run this weekend?
