The Freckleton Half Marathon was given an SSS score of 1.6 to reflect the warm conditions that the runners endured. The SSS score rates the difficulty of the course or conditions with 0.0 indicating that a course is fast and flat and weather conditions perfect.
Ben Fish (pictured) was first across the line. This popular race enjoys huge support from the people of Freckleton and Wrea Green. Their encouragement and enthusiasm pushed Ben to win the race in 70:09 and, despite this being almost 5 minutes slower than his time at Wilmslow earlier in the year, his handicap score stayed at MINUS 4.3 because the SSS score is taken into consideration.
Joanna Gurney was the first woman. She finished with a time of 89:23 and her time also kept her handicap score stable at 5.9.
