Waves of PBs at Telford 10k

With a narrow start, many set off fast at Telford but by 5k there were just two frontrunners - Adam Craig (handicap -5.2 ) and Omar Ahmed (handicap -6.4 ) who went through the halfway point in 14:05 The chasing group of 10+ runners came through15 seconds behind.
In the final 600m Adam Craig pulled a way to increase his lead to 30 metres and put himself 4th on the 2019 runbritain rankings. A total of five men dipped below 29 mintes (chip timing) with 17 below the half hour mark including U23 athletes Gus Cockle (handicap -4.5) and Tom Mortimer (handicap -4.8) who ran 29:46 and 29:48 respectively (chip times).
Samantha Harrison (handicap -1.3) also front ran much of the women's event in 32:31 (chip time) followed closely by Dani Chattenton (handicap -0.3) who updated her PB to 32:36. Third place went to Welsh athlete Clara Evans (handicap -0.7) in 33:07, also a PB. With times that would normally secure you a podium spot, Lauren Hall (handicap 0.3) ran a PB of 33:11 in 4th and City of Stoke’s Kate Holt (handicap 0.0) finished just behind in 33:15 on her 10k debut.
