Wales joins runbritain online licensing system

Cardiff Half Marathon

In 2014, 2,400 English races were licensed through runbritain and, this year, an estimated 400 Welsh races will join them.

Events that are licensed through runbritain, including parkruns, benefit from support that includes

• UKA’s £50m insurance policy

• Inclusion in runbritain online calendar

• Access to use runbritain’s popular at-cost online entry system

• Editorial support on the runbritain website

• Access to runbritain Race Director Courses at accredited and intermediate level

• Profiling of the race in the runbritain newsletters and facebook page

• Inclusion of results in runbritain handicap scoring updates and Power of 10 website

runbritain are pleased to welcome all Welsh road races to benefit from the above and become more accessible to Britain’s road runners. Road Race Co-ordinator Gavin Lightwood said “We are glad to welcome Wales on board. This is an exciting time for road running in Wales with Cardiff hosting the World Half Marathon Championship in 2016 and both the Swansea and Cardiff 10k's featuring in the runbritain Grand Prix. We look forward to working with Welsh races of all sizes from club organised races to huge events like the Cardiff Half Marathon and I am sure that it will be a mutually beneficial partnership."
