UK Athletics medical advisor Natasha Beach volunteers her services to the NHS

Dr Natasha Beach, the UK Athletics Medical Advisor for Endurance Races who leads the UKA Road Running Medical Group that oversees medical provision at road races, has responded to the Government’s request for volunteers and offered her services to be on the front line fighting Covid-19.
She will soon take up a position as a Doctor at the Chelsea and Westminster and Charing Cross Hospitals in London and be based there until further notice.
As well as her role with UK Athletics, Natasha is also a Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant and acts as a medical director or chief medical officer at a number of mass participation events and international events.
She said, “The key elements of my day jobs involve contact with people and so they are currently on hold. I want to use my medical skills to support the NHS through the corona-virus pandemic. We are in an unprecedented situation and we all need to work together to get through this.
Those of us working to prevent the spread of this terrible virus need the support of everyone in the country. The biggest help that they can give us is to follow Government advice and stay at home.”
Natasha has also just launched a new free website page - aimed at helping people keep fit at home and linking them into online sports medicine health services for those struggling to manage injuries at this time.

The thanks and best wishes of everyone at UK Athletics are with Natasha.
