Thinking of running Brighton Marathon? Now is good.

Breast Cancer Now

Angela Renshaw will be running Brighton Marathon for Breast Cancer Now on 17 April 2016.

For Angela, running this marathon will have special significance for her;

“Finding out my Mum had breast cancer is a conversation I will never forget. I’m the sort of person who likes problem solving, but the feeling of helplessness I had knowing there was nothing I could do to fix this situation was really difficult. Mum has had to undergo a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and then finally radiotherapy throughout 2015 and was so strong during the whole process. There was not a day that went by throughout that she wasn't smiling. She is a complete inspiration and so incredibly brave.

So, I decided to sign up to a challenge, I wanted to do something to make a difference. I needed to pick something that would be a real achievement so I decided to sign up for a marathon running for Breast Cancer Now. The reason I chose this charity is that I wanted something specific to what Mum was going through, and in particular I think the TLC awareness initiative they run helps women with early detection is so important.

I have done a few charity runs before, but always shorter distances and never with a cause truly close to my heart. This time, I have chosen something that will push me because on that day I will have the best motivation in the world, Mum waiting for me at the finish line!”
