Standards soar with scratch outside top 1000

The runbritain rankings system

Standards are soaring across the country so much so that your handicap score needs to be below scratch to be in the top 1000 on the National Ladder.

In May 2013, the best men's score was -5.7 but, today, that score no longer gets you into the top 10. Jonathan Taylor (handicap -5.7) currently has that score and sits in 12th.

Not only is it more competitive at the top end but, all the way through and in every age group, you need to be fitter and faster to achieve a top 1000 position and need to be below MINUS 1.7 in the men's open age group.

So what does it take to be top 1000 today and how does it compare to just two years ago in 2015?
