South Side Six sold out in 36 minutes!

The South Side Six, a run or a race depending on your motive for doing it, takes the participants through six of the largest green spaces on the south side of Glasgow.

The event started out, in 2010, as a group run: six friends ran around the 26km course and one spectator officiated. The runners received a goody bag and a printed t shirt. When they told others about this novel event they got an inkling of how popular this event could be but whether they would have predicted that it would sell out in 36 minutes to a capacity of 400 just four years later is debateable!

The race rewards runners who finish in the top places but the organisers are clear that their ethos is as much about providing runners with the opportunity to go and explore the south side of Glasgow, as a great area for running, as it is about producing fast times.
