Snowdonia Marathon Eryrifull in five days
The Snowdonia Marathon Eryri 2012 has reached record capacity in record time. It has taken this historic race just 50 days to reach a maximum of 2200 runners, and with preparations already underway to celebrate the 30th edition of the race this year's event promises to be even bigger and even better.
The event which is classed as the UK's toughest will take place on Saturday the 27th of October and will welcome runners from across the globe to take part in what is hoped with be a festival of running, with a fun run and children's races planned for 2012.
Entries co-ordinator Phil Jones was surprised at just how quickly the event filled-up, saying:
“We have been overwhelmed by the demand for this event in 2012. I don't think any of us on the organising team really believed that we would have reached 2200 entries by the end of February. Online entries have helped us a lot and the advent of online entry systems has meant that we can now monitor and gauge how the entries are going on a daily basis - but to be honest even this new tool hasn't prepared us for this demand, it's very exciting."
Entries for the 2012 Snowdonia Marathon Eryri event went live on the 1st of January with around 350 entries being snapped-up in the first day alone. Race Organiser Jayne Lloyd states:
