Scott Overall confirmed for Bristol

Scott Overall (handicap MINUS 5.1) is the current leader of the runbritain Grand Prix and has confirmed that he will be on the start line of the second race in the series at the Bristol 10k.
The first race of the Grand Prix was the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon where Scott claimed 250 points for winning the race and an additional 100 for running faster than 65 minutes. Nicholas Torry (handicap MINUS 5.4) finished 2nd and Phil Wicks (handicap MINUS 5.3) finished 3rd. All three broke the 65 minute barrier and so there are only two points separating these three runners(350,349,348). However, NIck and Phil have not entered the Bristol race to date. The next runners on the score board to have entered are James Connor (handicap -4.0), Jack Martin (handicap -4.4) and Ben Fish (handicap -4.4) who are currently placed 9th, 11th and 13th in the current standing and have 242, 240 and 238 points respectively. Scott ran the Virgin Money London Marathon earlier this month but was very disappointed with his time of 2:19:55 and will be looking to put in a good performance at Bristol.
Amongst the elite women we expect to see Phil Wick's wife, Emily (handicap 0.0) who is currently 8th on the scoreboard with 243 points. Joining her will be Emma Stepto (handicap -1.0), who is currently 6th with 245 points and completed the Virgin Money London Marathon in 2:36:05 and lowered her handicap score by 0.2.
Grand Prix points will be awarded for the first 250 finishing positions. 250 points will be awarded for the first British finisher, down to 1 point for the 250th British finisher. There are extra points available for men who run faster than 30 minutes and women who run faster than 33 minutes. Up to the best four scores from the six available races count at the end of the series. If the athlete scores points in less than four Grand Prix events, their best two, three or single score will count towards the final standings. Prize money totals £18,000 and is shared by the top 10 male and female British runners at the end of the series.
