Runner's World Best New Race

“The Runner’s World website was buzzing with glowing feedback, the race became an instant favourite for many,” said RW of the Richmond Park Marathon, winner of the “Best New Race” award - chosen by readers of www.runnersworld.co.uk - at the 2012 Runner’s World PB Awards held in London in April.

“A winning combination of undulating terrain in beautiful parkland and slick organisation plus a medal, T-shirt and goody bag at the finish gave this debut over 90 per cent in your overall ratings. Organisation and atmosphere clocked impressive stats too, and the good news is it looks set to become a fixture.”

It was perhaps even more than the race organisers could have wished for when the idea of doing a marathon run in one of London’s most beautiful Royal Parks was born in June 2010.
