Run the University of Kent Canterbury 10k this Sunday

It has been 15 years since the last runbritain/UKA licensed 10k in Canterbury but this Easter Sunday, the inaugural University of Kent Canterbury 10k will take place and is set to be an annual event.
The start will be at the Pavilion at the University and will take runners along the historic "Crab and Winkle Way" in the lovely countryside on the edge of Canterbury. The runners will enjoy superb views across the East Kent countryside and the world famous Canterbury cathedral. The “Crab and Winkle Way” was the old railway route from Canterbury to Whitstable which opened in 1834 and ran until 1952. George Stephenson and his son Robert built the locomotive Invicta, which pulled passengers along the line. Now, turned into a walking and cycling route, it is also perfect for running, and will not only provide an almost traffic-free route for those taking part, but also a few bits of history along the way!
There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt and fun races for children, making this a great day out for the whole family. The Pavilion has lots of changing facilities, and a good selection of refreshments and food - there's even a balcony with seating overlooking the start and finish of the race!!
The route is suitable for all abilities from beginners to elite. Electronic timing chips/transponders will be used and all results will be available at end of the race and submitted to runbritain for inclusion in the rankings allowing you to #clickyourclock and enter the Reward Running Competition.
Finishers medal for all those completing the race. PLUS Category and team prizes!!

Good luck!
