Run for tomorrow

Run for tomorrow

Run for Tomorrow is a continuous relay-style run around the world by a team of experienced marathon runners that will begin in September 2013. A member of the team runs a marathon distance and then passes the baton to the next runner. Through more than 30 countries and for about 200 days, the baton never stops moving.

The overall goal of R4T is to improve the health and well-being of individuals around the world through physical activity. R4T seeks to educate children and adults about the importance of healthy living and exercise, and encourage and inspire them to commit to making positive changes in their own lives. R4T is also raising awareness and support for people with diabetes, heart and stroke conditions and cancer, as well as those who are in poverty.

The relay run itself begins in Ottawa, returning there many months later. The runners will run through the UK next year and apart from being a great ‘spark’ or catalyst for people to get up and moving, it’s also a great opportunity for runners to give back, and to help others share in the benefits of running.

If you’d like more information or would like to get involved please visit the Run for Tomorrow website or email its founder, Malcolm Anderson, who is one of a small group of runners to have completed the Brathay 10in10 challenge.
