Run Bupa Great South Run for Diabetes UK

Diabetes is one of the biggest health challenges facing the UK today and causes more deaths than breast and prostate cancer combined.
Diabetes UK and Bupa are working together to identify those at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by funding a series of healthy lifestyle road shows across the UK. Donations from the Bupa Great South Run, a fast and flat 10-mile road run in Portsmouth which takes place on Sunday 28 October, will allow them to identify and support those at risk, help them to make lifestyle changes to become healthier and potentially extend their lives.
The deadline to sign up to be part of Team Diabetes UK is Friday 17 August. It’s £20 to enter with a target to raise £250.
As part of Team Diabetes UK you will get:
• A professional running top
• Training tips and programmes from the Bupa professionals
• Fundraising support
• The knowledge that you are doing something amazing while maintaining a healthy lifestyle
• The chance to win a pair of £100 running trainers
Please note that general entries for the Bupa Great South Run are now full and only charity places remain.
The event - which is the world’s leading 10 mile running event - forms part of a great weekend of running in Portsmouth including the Bupa Junior & Mini Great South Run and the Bupa Great South Run 5k
The flat and fast route takes in the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the race will be broadcast live on Channel 5.
