Richard Whitehead commented “I am really excited about taking on my next, and toughest, challenge to date. I would encourage as many of you to join me along the way and come and run with me. Whether you live in the north of Scotland or southern Cornwall, I could be running right past your door so come out and run with me – or at least cheer me on! All the money raised will be going towards two charities that are close to my heart, so I would ask you to dig deep and help me reach my target of £1 million”

Ernestina Hall, head of brand for good at Virgin Media said “We’re proud to support Richard in running the length of Britain which will be such an incredible feat of speed and endurance. The team at Virgin Media is passionate that everyone gets a chance to live their digital life to the full so when a member of staff suggested we add a Paralympic hero to our list of superfast brand ambassadors, we knew Richard would be the perfect person.  We wish Richard the best of luck in his run”.

Throughout his sporting career, Richard has competed at the highest level for Great Britain. He is currently theWorld Record holder in both full and half marathons, but he’s also one of the world’s best sprinters – and the current Paralympic and World Champion in the T42 200m winning Gold at the London 2013 Paralympic Games.
