The Royal Parks Half Marathon, presented by Royal Bank of Canada, unveiled its Inspire campaign in search of inspiring charity runners ahead of the rescheduled edition of the Royal Parks Half Marathon, which is set to take place on 11th April 2021.

The campaign is designed to help support and raise awareness for charities in need during the current pandemic, with the launch to take place on what would have been the original race weekend for the 2020 edition of the race.

Charities are at the core of the Royal Parks Half and since the race’s inception in 2008, close to £50 million has been raised. Organisations big and small have benefited from the fundraising efforts of dedicated runners, including the half marathon’s Golden Oak charity partners: Cancer Research UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital, British Heart Foundation, Mind and Tommy’s.

Inspire, sponsored by Royal Bank of Canada will begin the search for five outstanding charity runners and will showcase inspiring individuals who have risen to the challenges in what has been an unprecedented year.

Charity runners can put themselves forward and apply [royalparkshalf.com/inspire], with the five runners being selected by the end of the year through a committee of panellists. If you know someone running, you can nominate them too. Each runner will receive:

  • A VIP race place
  • A spotlight as an Inspire runner across the Royal Parks Half’s social media channels and website
  • Press coverage around their story and charity of choice
  • An exclusive Royal Parks Half race day pack with a Royal Parks’ bamboo hoodie, stainless steel water bottle and photo opportunity on the start line

Project Lead at The Royal Parks, Persephone Deacon-Cole, commented: “This year has tested so many of us. But through that adversity, we have all witnessed countless inspiring individuals, communities, and organisations rising to the challenges at hand.

“So many charities are facing dire circumstances and we have to come together as a community to help make a difference and raise those all-important funds.”
