Queens's Birthday Honours 2022

Three athletics representatives have received recognition in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2022.
Paralympic medallist Sammi Kinghorn has been awarded an MBE for her services to Disability Sport. The Scottish athlete (pictured above) won her first Paralympic medals in Tokyo last year in the T53 100m (bronze) and 400m (silver). Sammi has been an ever-present member of British teams since 2013, winning World and European medals.
Connie Henry, founder of Track Academy has also been awarded an MBE for charitable services to Young People through Sports and Education. During her athletics career she competed for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and England. For the latter, she won triple jump bronze in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Since 2007 Connie has run the charity, Track Academy.
John Stephenson has been awarded a British Empire Medal in the Honours list for his services to Gateshead Harriers AC, where he has coached for over 50 years.
