Polar Heart Rate Monitor for Reward Running Winner

Reward Running

The results of the Reward Running competition for July are out now!

This competition, sponsored by Polar, rewards runners who have improved their handicap score by the largest amount with a Polar Heart Rate Monitor.

July's winner was Richard Bevan (handicap 7.9) who made a massive 10.047 improvement. He started the month on 19.2 before running a series of parkruns at Telford and Shrewsbury. Over three weekends he moved his score to 14.8, 10.5 and finally landed on 9.1. Incidentally, he has since shifted it to 7.9 by doing a parkrun last weekend too! This is a great example of how regular racing rewards runners. Richard's performance graph shows that he had a break from racing for a few years and had only managed a few races in 2014 before getting himself back 'on the come-back trail' in July and with faster times than he has done previously!

Richard will shortly receive a Polar RC3 GPS heart Rate Monitor (RRP £249.50) for his July improvement.

At the end of each month from March until October, the runner who improves their handicap the most in that month will receive a Polar heart rate monitor.
