Planning a spring marathon?
Although there are not many signs of spring just yet you may have noticed that the days are staying lighter for that little bit longer. That's great news for runners who are planning to increase their mileage in preparation for a spring marathon.
Over the next few weeks it will be easier to get out for a run during daylight hours and put in the extra volume needed for marathon training so, if running a marathon is on your "to do before I die" list and you have it in your plans check out our sixteen week training plans in the Sennheiser Training Zone that will help you achieve your target.

For a more bespoke approach tell our Training Wizard what it is that you really want to do. He will set you a programme at the start of each week after you have given him four pieces of information :
- What you want to do
Select "run a marathon"
- The target
Do you have a particular time barrier you want to break or do you want to "get round"
- The focus for the week
You should think about your overall plan from now until the big day and break it down into phases where you can concentrate on one fitness component at a time. Depending on the time you have from now until your marathon you may spend a few weeks building an aerobic base before bringing in some strength work and then some speed work to really give you the edge. The Training Wizard will ask you if you want to build an aerobic base, build strength-endurance, build speed-endurance or improve running economy.
