Neverland awaits for thousands of runners at Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens 10k

Entries are filling fast for the hugely popular Richmond RUNFEST. Now in its sixth year, the running festival returns to Kew Gardens on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September, with Peter Pan in tow! Mermaids, lost boys, crocodiles, Captain Hook and the Pirates of the Jolly Rogger will transform the two-day running festival into a magical, once in a lifetime experience.

Over 8,000 runners will lace up for the weekend’s three race options: Saturday 15th sees London’s flattest 10k in 2018 running entirely inside the Royal Botanic Gardens with views of the newly restored Temporate House. It’s flat, it’s fast; PB hunters, this one’s for you.

Sunday 16th plays host to the half and full marathon through Kew Gardens, Ham House and Hampton Court Palace. With charity places still available, now’s the time to confirm your spot in this beautifully scenic race while fundraising for a fantastic cause. The Family Mile, taking place in Old Deer Park at 2pm on the Sunday, is a fun run for children over the age of 5 and their families.

Jade Bedford, Assistant Race Director says: “With Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity announced as headline charity partner, we cannot wait to transform our race into J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan; it’ll be a magical weekend for all involved. Every runner will receive their hidden treasure medal at the finish line to remain ever young!

“We take great pride in the design of our medals; this year we’re treating our runners to an exclusive purple and gold, Peter Pan inspired design.”

Tom Bedford, Race Director adds: “We cannot wait to welcome thousands of runners back to Kew Gardens in September; we’re honoured to be joined by a list of incredible Olympians too. Plan your Autumn race diary today and snap up your spot at the start line of our super flat and fast 10k. A weekend for the whole family, we’ve also got the kids run and family mile on the Sunday - it’s exciting to think we might play host to Britain’s next generation of world-class athletes.”
