Move over Dad - there's a RUNNING Beckham coming through!

As David Beckham celebrated his 40th birthday yesterday he may have been wondering how long it will be before his chidren start out-performing him as son, Romeo Beckham (handicap 9.2), has a pretty nifty time over 3 miles for a 12 year old!

It has been rumoured that David Beckham was a good 1500m and cross-country runner in his younger days and certainly his footballing prowess demonstrates good running fitness. Well it would appear that Romeo is following in his footsteps.

Romeo has registered two performances this year, at the National Prep Schools Cross Country Championships that gave him a handicap score of 9.9 and last weekend at the Virgin London Mini Marathon where he reduced it by 0.7.
