Marathon challenge to businesses
With just three months to go before race day on Sunday 7 October, the organisers of the MBNA Chester Marathon are throwing down the gauntlet to local, regional and national businesses to participate in the 2012 MBNA Chester Marathon Corporate Challenge.
“Training for and running a marathon isn’t just about the event,” says Race Organiser Chris Hulse; “it’s about lifestyle. The Corporate Challenge is a new feature in our marathon this year devised to help promote health and fitness in the workplace.”
The Corporate Challenge is open to all sectors of business and industry in the public and private sector with teams of between three to six runners benefiting from a fun team-building opportunity as well as competing for a range of prizes. The times of the fastest three runners combine to make the team’s final score so competitive colleagues have every incentive to train and encourage each other to achieve their potential, regardless of running ability or fitness.
“If you prefer a team approach to sport, then the MBNA Chester Marathon is ideal,” adds Hulse. “The race has a superb base at Chester Racecourse and a route taking in many of Chester’s iconic landmarks as well as the stunning Cheshire and North Wales villages and countryside.”
