Last weekend for June Reward Running

Reward Running

Where are you racing this weekend? Before you set off, make sure your name is down for for the June competition of  Reward Running 2014.This is the last weekend that you can make a difference to your handicap score for this month.

This competition, sponsored by Polar, rewards runners who have improved their handicap score by the largest amount with a Polar Heart Rate Monitor.

If your handicap score is going in the right direction, you may be able to knock Nick Kelly (handicap 7.3) off the top of the table. Nick has made an 8.452 improvement so far in the four races he has done this month. He started the month on 15.9. He then took it down to 13.1 when he ran the Three Sisters 5k on Wednesday 11 June in a best time of 20:26 before smashing through the 20 minute barrier just four days later, with a 19:50 clocking at the Joseph Holts 5k. Realising he is on a roll, he then tackled the Horwich Jubilee 5, a week last Wednesday, and took his score down to 8.4 with a 34:23 clocking and followed that up with a 42:43 at the Elleston Arms 10k last Saturday.

At the end of each month from March until October, the runner who improves their handicap the most in that month will receive a Polar heart rate monitor.
