Last call for Swansea Bay entries!

 Entries for the Admiral Swansea Bay 5k and 10k, the fourth race in the 2013 runbritain Grand Prix, close tomorrow with the Junior Races closing mid September. The races take place on Sunday 22 September.

With Swansea’s reputation as a City of Sport growing every year, the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k attracts top level athletes as well as intermediate and novice runners year on year. It has been part of the runbritain Grand Prix since its beginning in 2010 attracting runners targeting top 250 placingson  the leaderboard.

Long time supporter of the event, Admiral see many of their staff taking part in the event each year.  Dave Halliday, Admiral CS MD said “Admiral is delighted to be part of the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k for the 8th year running. This race continues to be popular, both locally and nationally and many of our staff and their families are taking part on the day.”

As well as the main race, the event features two fantastic junior races (1k and 3k), a new 5k race for age 15+, a wheelchair race and a mascot race.  Spectators can enjoy entertainment and stalls during the race too.

Cllr Nick Bradley, Cabinet Member for Regeneration said, “the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k Events is now in its 33rd and shows no sign of slowing down.

“Long standing and well established sporting events such as this, coupled with the range of major sporting events that the City has attracted to date and which are planned for next year and future years, definitely earn Swansea the title of City of Sport.”

Enter now and see if you can get onto the leaderboard on 22 September. Points are awarded for the first 250 finishing positions at all six of the Grand Prix events.  250 points will be awarded for the first British finisher, down to 1 point for the 250th British finisher.

Can you get on the scoreboard at the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k? Last year's 250th male finisher was Phillip Cushion who completed the course in 42:27. 250th female finisher was Katrina Harper with a time of 52:52.
