Largest all women's 10k enhanced for 2012

The 2012 Ignis Asset Management Women’s 10k launched in Glasgow on Wednesday 11 January, amid the skirl of bagpipes and the beat of drums, heralding a run of enhancements being introduced for this year’s race on Sunday 13 May.

Over 12,000 women are expected to participate in the much-loved annual event, held in Glasgow, which is the UK’s largest all women’s 10k.

Under the ‘running clock’ outside Buchanan Bus Station pipers and drummers from the Williamwood Pipe Band joined Clyde 1 presenters Knoxy and Shebahn Littlejohn to highlight that route entertainment will be doubled to every 500m for 2012.
