Entries are now open for The Hogs Back Road Race to be held on Sunday 10th December in Guildford, Surrey.

Guildford’s most popular road run, The Hogs Back Road Race, returns for it’s 57th year on 10th December 2017. This historic race is delivered by award-winning organisers aat-events on behalf of Guildford and Godalming Athletics Club (GGAC).

The 11.7km road run is GGAC’s largest fundraising event, and sees the return of sponsors Wilkins Kennedy (and their team of runners) for 2017 along with a new charity partner: Lucy Air Ambulance for Children.

Starting at the majestic Loseley House, you will run along a professionally marked and measured route out to the Hogs Back, where you can enjoy the frosty views from the North Downs Ridge across the Surrey countryside.

All finishers will receive a cheeky 'Pig Medal' and complimentary refreshments. You can  also treat yourself to an award-winning Giggly Pig sausage bap, hot drinks from Cafe2U, sports massage by Guildford Sports Clinic and a Hogs Back Road Race “buff”- proceeds of which go to GGAC.

Sponsors Hogs Back Brewery and Fitstuff are providing very welcome prizes to the first few finishers.

The Hogs Back Road Race is proudly affiliated with UKA, and holds the British Association of Road Races (BARR) Gold Award for outstanding race management. The race also placed 2nd in the 2016 racecheck awards for The UK’s Best Road Run - behind the Mercer Surrey Half Marathon.

Whilst the field is predominantly made up of Surrey and Hampshire-based runners, it is no surprise that this increasingly popular race now attracts runners from further afield.

1000 runners registered to take part in 2016’s sell-out event, and hundreds have already registered for 2017’s race. This race sells out in advance every year, so those keen to take part are urged to secure one of the limited race places as soon as possible.
