Mohammed Abu Rezeq and Helen Clitheroe set the lowest scores of the week at Cheshire 10k

This weekend’s Cheshire 10k produced great times for runners throughout the field and also produced the week’s top road performances in the UK for both men and women.
Runners at the Cheshire 10k enjoyed a flat and scenic race on rural roads in mid-Cheshire and many produced their fastest times but most outstanding were winners, Mohammed Abu-Rezeq (handicap MINUS 5.1) and Helen Clitheroe (handicap MINUS 1.3) who left the opposition standing with super-fast times of 29:11 and 32:44 and net handicap scores of -5.1 and -1.2 respectively.
This took Mohammed’s overall score back to where it had previously been at -5.1 but a short break from racing through October had seen it slip to -5.0. Although Mohammed is based in the UK he is not eligible to run for Great Britain and so doesn’t have a place on the National Ladder but his performances would put him in the top 40.
Helen’s performance didn’t rank as highly as the 4 mile race that she did in the Netherlands on 12th October (where her score was -1.5) but she is racing regularly and so is likely to stay in the top twenty on the National Ladder, where she is currently ranked 18th.
Other top performances from the weekend came from the Indianapolis Half Marathon where Tom Anderson (handicap -3.9), Rob Mullett (handicap -2.1) and Andrew Sherman (handicap -3.1) all achieved net scores of sub -4.1.
