Half Marathon Championships to take place at Ikano Robin Hood 2016

Wollaton Park

The prestigious Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon that takes place on the 25th September will incorporate the British Athletics Half Marathon Championships.

The 2015 picturesque route included more of Nottingham’s landmarks than ever before and runners can look forward to further improvements to this year’s event. Race organiser, Sweatshop and Nottingham City Council have been working hard to develop new elements for an impressive new route which will prove ideal for top athletes and beginners alike. This event is perfect for runners with all kinds of motivations whether you’re interested in competition alongside elites, want to run a personal best or just want to be a part of the Championships.

Judith Manson, Race Director, comments: “We’re delighted the Ikano Robin Hood has been selected for the Half Marathon Championships and we’re looking forward to being part of such a significant event. The team have worked really hard to ensure this route is superior to last year’s and the changes made will allow runners to take in even more of what Nottingham has to offer as well as increased opportunity for spectator support. The route still includes the much-loved Victoria Embankment start and the Race Village finish so the atmosphere will be fantastic – we can’t wait to welcome you all.

Now in its 36th year, the 2016 event is predicted to welcome up to 10,000 runners to the half marathon and up to 2,000 runners to line up for the full marathon.
