Getting started: new Sennheiser training site content
Getting started; sometimes that’s half the battle, so check out the latest articles on our Sennheiser training site for some advice on running 10k, half marathon and marathon distances.
The 10k is probably the most popular race distance for road runners and so you wouldn’t be on your own if you went along to a running club or group and told the coach or leader that you wanted to run 10k. It’s long enough to challenge your endurance, but not too long that you are out all day. You can be on the start line of a 10k in the morning, get it finished and be at home or in the pub for lunch! Perfect!!
Running a half marathon is sometimes a way for the would-be marathon runner to monitor how he or she is getting along on the way to the marathon, or for the runner who has just completed a 10k to see if they can go even further. The beauty of the half marathon is that you recover more quickly than you do from the marathon so you can do more of them and take time to perfect them.
Running a marathon seems to be on the “to do before I die” list of many people. There is a certain fascination with this event; it brings runners from all different backgrounds, experiences and ages together on the start line of the marathon. You only have to watch the Virgin London Marathon each year to see that most people can complete a marathon and if they prepare well they can complete it without too much suffering. It is open to most but under 18s are not allowed to run in the marathon and it really would be better if they waited a good few years after this date for many reasons that we won’t go into here.
So if, like many people, you have your heart set on running a marathon, we had better get you started.
