Preparing for your spring marathon

London Marathon 2017

With the Virgin Money London Marathon just over fourteen weeks away and other spring marathons on the horizon, it's time to get serious with your marathon training.

Sunday 28th April will see around 40,000 runners and 1,000,000 spectators take to the street of the capital for the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon.

For those who have secured an entry into the event, it's time to get busy with your training and we're here to help. The Training and Advice section of our website is packed full of advice on improving endurance and speed and there are generic training programmes to help get you round, break 4 hours or break 3 hours.

For those who need a more bespoke training programme, our Training Wizard will help you on a weekly basis. All you need to do is to tell him that you want to run a marathon, the pace you want to run it at, your training focus for that week and whether you need a hard, medium or easy week and he will set you your programme for the week.
