Hurry to enter the Ipswich Building Society Twilight Road Races

Twilight

With less than three weeks to go before the inaugural Ipswich Building Society Twilight Road Races the entry list is taking shape so put yours in quickly and join the others to Beat the Sunset!

On a flat, traffic-free town centre course, there will be two races - A 5k race for those that can run within 20 minutes (men) or 22 minutes (ladies) with cash prizes to be won and a 10k mass participation run with the aim of beating the sunset!

The 10k will start at 7.30pm. It will  take a route through the streets of Ipswich Town Centre and pass through Ipswich Town's Portman Road Stadium. The sun will set at 8.22pm and runners will be cheered on to finish the course before the sun goes down.

Before the 10km takes place, the 5km will showcase an international field. Elite entries have already been received and the race is sure to get the evening off to a flying start and bring inspiration to runners warming up to beat the sunset.

Some of those lining up for the 5k race are: Men -  Andrew Heyes (handicap -5.8), Ryan McLeod (handicap -4.9), Aaron Scott (handicap -4.3) and Chris Thompson (handicap -1.3). Women - Jessica Coulson (handicap -1.7), Lauren Howarth (handicap 0.0), Rebecca Murray (handicap -0.1) and  Stacey Ward (handicap 0.2).

The events will take place on FRIDAY 14TH AUGUST 2015
