Get active with Jantastic

Jantastic, the New Year fitness challenge that inspires the nation to get active during the winter months, is back for 2015 and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever.
While most of us are getting set to enjoy the Christmas season, with all of its associated partying and over-indulgence, the smart ones are also looking ahead to the New Year and planning how to get back in shape and commit to a fitness programme. Designed to encourage and motivate participants to set and achieve their personal health and fitness goals for January to March, Jantastic is a free, collaborative and exciting digital challenge for individuals and teams.
New for 2015, Jantastic participants can mix things up by setting their fitness goals for running, cycling and swimming (or a combination of these). Participants can set their own personal goals through the Jantastic website and be provided with regular motivation, reminders and encouragement, inspiring them to achieve their goals through the tough winter months.
Jantastic 2014 saw over 21,000 people log 356,000 runs and cover in excess of one million miles, but the goal for 2015 is to be even bigger and better. Jantastic 2015 is hoping to see 100,000 people signing up to kick-start their New Year fitness programme, covering a total of 5 million miles of running, cycling and swimming. Everyone taking part in 2015 will also have the option to raise money for charity by completing their Jantastic challenge, thanks to partnerships with Virgin Money Giving and Macmillan.
Martin Yelling, co-founder of Jantastic, said, “Jantastic is back and 2015 is set to be even bigger, better and more enjoyable. The cold, dark months after Christmas are always a difficult time to stay motivated for any fitness programme, but Jantastic is there to help. Whatever your motivation, whether it’s to achieve your own personal health and fitness goals, to get ready for a specific event, to raise money for charity, to compete with your friends, or simply just get more active in 2015, taking part in Jantastic is the perfect way to start the New Year.”
Individuals or teams can sign up right now by visiting www.jantastic.me, with the challenge itself beginning on 5th January 2015.
Several new partners have come on board to help make Jantastic 2015 an even bigger and better experience for those taking part and to help increase the numbers getting involved, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Strava, Virgin Money Giving, England Athletics, Triathlon England and Tribesports.
