World Athletics Championships begin tonight

The World Athletics Championships Oregon 2022 get underway tonight with several Great Britain and Northern Ireland athletes kick starting their campaigns.

The women’s 1500m dominates the endurance track programme for the evening with Laura Muir, Katie Snowden and Melissa Courtney competing.

Olympic silver medallist Laura Muir (handicap -3.1) is first up in heat one before Katie Snowden (handicap -1.9) and Melissa Courtney-Bryant (handicap -1.9) go in heat two and three with the heats starting at 2:10am.
